February 14, 2022

The Chester Volunteer Fire Company went all in on Sunday 2/13- Literally! Members that have been specially trained in ice rescue donned the gear and ran through some scenarios on a local pond. This type of technical rescue is not needed often but when it is time is of the essence and the crews need to act very quickly. Morris County has a number of FDs that have trained personnel to deal with ice rescue as well as swift water incidents in addition there are two departments that deploy dive teams.
